About Us
Gina Collins (formerly A2G Music) is an experienced singer, spanning many years of professional work ranging from Country, Rock, Cabaret and Jazz.
From very early days of performing in her hometown of Warrnambool with her father, Gina used this as a handy stepping stone to form her own bands. Gina was often featured in the local newspapers and performed on many local radio advertisements. Her Top 40 cover band ‘Red’ was extremely popular in the Western District and supported some very well known bands, namely Pseudo Echo, Australian Crawl and Goanna to name a few. Following this, she moved to Melbourne and toured with Kamahl, so needless to say her versatility came in very handy.
Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, Patsy Cline and Cher tribute shows were also a definite indication of her range of vocal ability. Fully choreographed and scripted shows gave her the experience required for many other facets of the entertainment industry. In fact prior to her touring, Gina worked behind the scenes as a Production Assistant with Channel 7 and Grundy Entertainment, working on mostly live audience shows, whilst also continuing band and session work.
Rock cover bands became a particular favourite, travelling to numerous venues across Melbourne and throughout Victoria, becoming a major part of her life. Performing in cabaret shows such as 'The Shania Twain Tribute' and 'The Magical 60's Tour' then scaling down to a duo helped form 'A2G Music', which she regularly provided entertainment across Melbourne for the past 4 years. Now Gina regularly performs in her group 'Two times a Lady' and also her acoustic duo ‘Red’ at many functions across Melbourne. (Read more about these groups on the Talent/Acts page.)
Gina also owns and operates ‘Hey Dee Ho Music’ and 'Fun-Key Music' in the Diamond Valley area, teaching pre-school and primary school aged children singing, music and performance and is a very popular member of the community . In April 2010, Gina won ‘30+ Suburban Superstar 2010’ which was run by Melbourne radio station Vega FM (now Classic Rock). She performed in front of 800 people at Palms at Crown and was chosen as the Grand Final winner. As a result of this, Gina was able to record her own song 'Man in my pocket' and had radio airplay on Vega FM. Check out ginacollinsisred@myspace.com to listen.
She did also get through to the fourth stage of the X Factor, judged by the television judges, Kyle Sandilands, Natalie Imbruglia, Guy Sebastian and Ronan Keating. She was flown up to Sydney making it to the Top 50 in Australia for the 25+ age bracket. Needless to say, Gina has had plenty of experience both in front of audiences and behind the scenes.
